What We Believe:
That every person has a story worth telling
That identity is not defined by our lowest moments
That honesty and connection is where healing begins
That creative expression can unlock truth in ways words alone cannot
Our work is rooted in the principles of acting, NOT simplyperformance, but to live truthfully in the present moment. Through structured exercises, group work, and performance-based experiences, we create a space where individuals can explore who they are, not who they’ve been labeled to be.
We are people who have struggled.
We are people who are rebuilding.
We are people worthy of love and respect.
Most importantly—We are a creative community.
Who We Are
Act 4 Recovery is a collective of artists, educators, and individuals in recovery who believe in the power of truth, storytelling, and human connection.
We are not therapists.
We are not clinicians.
We are creators! Using the tools of acting, music, and ensemble work to help people reconnect with themselves and others.
Founded by John J. Fanelli, Act 4 Recovery was born from lived experience—the intersection of a lifelong career in the performing arts and a personal journey through addiction and recovery. What emerged is a process that bridges two worlds that rarely meet, yet share the same foundation: honesty, presence, vulnerability, and courage.
